What is Hypnotherapy?
However if you want me to explain the techniques I'll start with Hypnotherapy. Many people don't realise
what Hypnotherapy actually entails.
Hypnotherapy is a very safe way of causing a shift of consciousness at
a much deeper level. It always entails your conscious awareness of the process and you can choose to opt out at any
time during a hypnotherapeutic intervention. Many don't realise this. Many fear the 'power' of the
hypnotherapist being able to dabble with your mind and get you to reveal things that you didn't know were in there somewhere.
I've heard that one many times! Don't worry! No one's going
to take away your free will.
As I work integratively, I use a range of different styles of hypnotherapy.
It isn't all 'look into my eyes' hocus pocus! You might even enjoy it! Book yourself in.

Many believe that their problem is so
intractable that surely, only Hypnotherapy, is going to be able to reprogram the mind. This may be the case. But
it is often not. It just maybe that you haven't yet found the right therapist. So even if you think you need
hypnotherapy, be prepared to be surprised if we resolve it with other tools.
What
is Psychotherapy and Counselling?
Psychotherapy encompasses a broad category of therapies and interventions.
Some of the models you may be familiar with: psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, counselling and
so on. I am trained in all of these models and more. All of them vary in style and in effectiveness, but together,
in varying mixes, they become a very powerful tool for change. If you aren't frightened of change, then you'll
be very pleased you opted for integrative psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is much more challenging
than counselling alone. The therapist will engage with the client and according to some models, be far more directive
than counselling can be. That means the therapist will work actively with you to solve your problems. And if you've
had an issue that keeps coming back, and you've talked your socks off with various counsellors and decided you can't
do any more of that, then you'll now want to work with someone who is really going to hold up the mirror and show you
which areas you really need to work on.
Counselling on the other hand I often feel, is more like having a sympathetic
ear. If you're suffering with grief or loss, this can be absolutely essential.
What is NLP?
Firstly,
to really benefit from NLP you need to be a highly motivated individual. You need to be someone who really wants to
change and is up for a challenge. So despite the popularity, buzz and hype of NLP that you'll find all over
the internet, it has a specialist application and only a certain percentage will respond well to it.
NLP
or Neuro Linguistic Programming is a way of training the mind to focus on desired outcomes and not on the fears and fantasies
that might have typified your thinking till now. In conjunction with any of the above strategies, it can have some very
powerful outcomes at the right time.
What is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
(EMDR)?
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing for the resolution of trauma or 'stuck' thinking.
This can have an extremely rapid effect with some people. It effectively helps the emotional brain to be balanced by
the more logical brain which enables people to become more pragmatic and rational which is essential with Post Traumatic
Stress disorder and other forms of trauma.
All of the above treatment options work best when integrated. That means that there is no one size fits all
style of therapy. You must have realised that by now if you are here reading this. So if you would like to call
